Blogging again
After a year of not writing, I have decided it's time for me to resume this form of communication. I had to step back for a while and let some time pass for healing. After five months of filming in Louisiana, it was difficult getting over all that I saw and experienced. The 200 plus hours of footage I captured plays throughout my dreams every night. I'm not over it by any means, but I am ready to move on and continue my outreach.
My project is steadily moving forward. I have a radio piece about to come out and a final version of Heaven Come Down. My editor and I are working through the many hours of footage and we are beginning to craft the story of me journey home.
Tomorrow I am going to Louisiana for two weeks. My mom is selling her house and moving to California. This will be the last time I have a home to go back to in Louisiana. I am happy for my mother, but I am sad as well. This will be the final chapter of my film.
